My Two Worlds…
Affect My Life

Over the past few weeks, I have written about living in two different worlds…one here in America and the other world in Myanmar. Also, in my previous rant regarding Donald the Dumb, I wrote about his inheriting $413 million dollars from his father. That figure is based on the value of the dollar today. With that money, he played the part of a real estate mogul on his stage of life. He dressed up like a 21st century version of the Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Then during most of his adult life, he made bad investments, which resulted in blowing his fortune. Additionally, as he struts across his stage as a racist, treats women as sex objects, and bribes his way through various legal entanglements. Obviously, Trump didn’t listen to the words from Macbeth.

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.

According to what he calls fake news, Trump owes $425 million to several entities including Deutsche Bank, which is coming due soon. I also mentioned that he has reversed many environmental laws, tried to end Obamacare, was into white supremacy, and wanted to end NATO. Beyond that litany of sins, he has done nothing to stop COVID-19. He is responsible for a large percentage of the 210,000 COVID-19 deaths in the States due to his ignoring what medical doctors have told him. We have 20% of the confirmed cases and deaths in the world even though America is 4.2% of the world’s population.

Trump has dissed masks, social distancing, and other guidelines put out by his the CDC and his White House Coronavirus Task Force. His mantra about COVID-19 is that it will go away.

As smart as Donald the Dumb is, it hasn’t just gone away. In fact, Trump has contracted COVID-19. Obviously, the next question is when did he contract it? An even more pressing question is to whom has he spread it? Just over a week ago, Trump gave himself an A+ for handling COVID-19 and added, “We've done a phenomenal job, not just a good job, a phenomenal job, other than public relations, but that's because I have fake news.”

While our illustrious president claims that he has done a phenomenal job dealing with the coronavirus, he has infected others with it. This is the first installment of people that have it within his circle. I’d bet that this list will expand over the next couple of days.

Eleven and counting….

As if we need someone else to make matters worse, Dr. Sean Conley, Trump’s doctor, briefed the world about his patient’s condition. It is obvious that Conley is Donald the Dumb’s physician, because his updating the press regarding Trump’s condition wasn’t much of an update.

Dr. Brian Garibaldi said at that news conference that Trump started the experimental antibody therapy “about 48 hours ago.” That would put his taking of the therapy just prior to Trump flying to New Jersey for a fundraiser.

Therefore, in my world in America, the Denier in Chief spent most of the year denying use of masks and social distancing. As a result, he has become the Super-Spreader in Chief. Nevertheless, that is only one of my worlds; Myanmar is the other world.

Kaung, my web administrator, lives in Yangon, Myanmar. He knows my family. Therefore, he reads anything that I write about my family. He has heard me go on and on about Ti Ti. He knows that I was impatiently waiting to find out where she was going to college.

After months of waiting, I got Ti Ti’s choice, and I emailed her about my excitement. The next person that I emailed was Kaung. I told him that Ti Ti will being going to Gusto University in Yangon.

This is a picture of Ti Ti working online. She has been taking Japanese as an online class before she decided on Gusto University.

Kaung was apprehensive about Ti Ti going to school in Yangon due to the second wave of COVID-19 was spreading throughout Myanmar. He added that “the death and virus spread rates are increasing daily.” He wanted me to warn Ti Ti not to start college now due to the spread of COVID-19.

Do you see the difference between Kaung and Trump? Kaung was concerned about another person. Trump is only concerned about himself. As it turned out, Ti Ti is beginning today at Gusto University…online. She will remain at her home near Inle Lake until the coronavirus is under control.

This where my two worlds mix. America has the highest total of confirmed cases in the entire world, which is nearly 7.5 million cases. Its death rate is 210,000, which is also the hightest. Therefore, the States has 20% of both confirmed cases and deaths compared to global confirmed cases and deaths. America has 4.23% of the world’s population but has 20% of the world’s confirmed cases and deaths.

In my world in America, we are dealing with the pandemic. In my other world in Myanmar, they are also dealing with COVID-19. The US has 6 times the population of Myanmar. So, to compare percentages of confirmed cases and deaths, multiply Myanmar’s 16,500 confirmed cases and 371 deaths by 6. If you did that, Myanmar would have 99,000 confirmed cases and 2,226 deaths if the populations of both countries were the same. Our death rate in America is 99% higher than Myanmar’s.

Why is there that large of a discrepancy between America with all the doctors, hospitals, and healthcare providers and Myanmar, which is a developing country? The answer is obvious. Myanmar acted at once when the first cases were found. In America, Donald the Dumb has done slightly more than nothing to address the coronavirus other they deny it.

If Trump had been smart, he would have done what Myanmar did. But alas, he didn’t. And where is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln today? He is hospitalized. Trump is being treated for COVID-19 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Now, if he is able to recover from his dance with death, I can’t say that he would have learned his lesson. Nevertheless, I hope the rest of us aren’t as stupid and egotistical as Donald the Dumb.
