Branding in the Waning Days
Some Branding Ideas

Trump is working hard at branding before he leaves the White House. Granted, he isn’t doing the normal work of a president, but he surely is active. He is tweeting, calling governors, legislators, appealing twice to the Supreme Court, calling people names that don’t agree with him, etc.

For months, Trump has assured us that he is taking care of the coronavirus. Everything under control…his control.

However, Trump is taking credit for COVID-19 vaccines that are getting ready for nationwide distribution. Now, there seems to be a disconnect here. If the coronavirus has only affected a couple dozen Americans, why do Americans need a vaccine. Either Trump doesn’t realize that the coronavirus and COVID-19 are the same disease, or he has been sleeping on the job of protecting Americans from this pandemic.

America represents 4.25% of the population of the world. Presently, we have nearly 16 million confirmed cases and 300,000 deaths due to COVID-19. Do the math. We have 23% of the world’s confirmed cases and 20% of the deaths while we only represent 4.25% of the world’s population. Either that is fake news, or the problem rests at the feet of Trump for not addressing the coronavirus.

Some people at Fox News came up with an idea, or Trump suggested it. Either way, they want the vaccines to bear Trump’s name. This branding of the vaccines is designed as a tribute to Trump.

We have branded vaccines in the past like the Salk or Sabin Polo Vaccines. Why? Branding took place with both the polo vaccines because Salk and Sabin worked on those vaccines. In Trump’s case, he didn’t work on developing any of the vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, BioNTech, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Novavax, or Sanofi.

Actually, Trump, not only wasn’t working on the vaccines, he wasn’t even addressing the pandemic except for his inane assertion, “The virus that we’re talking about having to do, a lot of people think that goes away in April, with the heat, as the heat comes in, typically that will go away in April.” While that statement isn’t close to being grammatically correct, he means that it will disappear in April.

Now, Trump has other branding issues of the past. Here are several: Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, Trump beverages, Trump University, Trump: The Game, Trump casinos, Trump Mortgage, Trump magazines, Trump travel sites, Trumpnet, a telephone company, Trump Vodka, Trump Tower Tampa, etc. He was into branding, and all of them were failures.

Therefore, I’d suggest the vaccine branding wouldn’t work. Trump hasn’t done anything to address COVID-19 including working on vaccines. Additionally, there are many people already leery of the vaccines and putting his name on them might deter many from taking a chance with one of the vaccines.

Nonetheless, I have some possible and workable branding ideas. This is one: Donald’s Disinfectant Detergent. It could be taken orally like a mouthwash, or it could be taken as an injection.

Another idea is the Trump Country Acquisition Real Estate Company. He would buy and sell countries like Greenland.

Okay. If you aren’t into buying real estate, you might wish to hire the legal services of the Trump Law, LLC. His slogan could be, “Get out of jail quickly, because I make the law.”

Trump Immigration Company is another idea for branding. Trump would help get people from Norway or other countries with white populations into America. His advertising idea relates to whites only and not allowing “people from shithole countries to come here.” He would exclude people from places like Haiti, El Salvador, and Africa as examples.

Nonetheless, Donald the Dumb’s day are dwindling down to a previous few.
