Hitler’s Bunker Mentality
Then and Now

It has been 75 years since WWII ended in Europe. Hitler’s main goal of the war was to preserve a pure the Aryan race by killing non-Aryans. As a result of WWII, around 85 million people died most of whom weren’t Aryans.

However, things weren’t going well for Hitler in 1945. Der Führer spent his last 105 days in the Führerbunker under the Reich Chancellery. This was the Reich Chancellery during the days when Hitler was in his bunker.

This is the Reich Chancellery

This is what Hitler’s bunker looked like.

The Russians were approaching from the east and the Americans from the west. Hitler was a bit distraught. Interestingly, FDR died in April of 1945, which meant that Hitler used Roosevelt’s death as his April Surprise. With FDR out of the way, he thought that Truman would sue for peace. Hitler’s April Surprise reflected his mental disconnect between the two worlds: Hitler’s world and the real world.

If the waters of reality weren’t muddied enough, Hitler’s personal doctor, Dr. Morell, gave him all sorts of drugs to ease any discomfort that he was feeling due to the pressures of the war.

Then there was Hitler’s favorite painting of Frederick the Great. Hitler saw Frederick the Great as a mentor and as his personal guardian angel. Frederick the Great lucked out during the Seven Years’ War, and Hitler utilized that as an omen of hope. Frederick the Great would vicariously rescue him from impending doom.

As the Russians and the America tightened the noose around the Thousand Year Reich and Hitler, Der Führer was slowly realizing that all his hopes were rapidly dissipating. He continued to give orders to battalions that no longer existed. In a fit of rage, he threatened to shoot Dr. Morell for giving him morphine. Hitler had Hermann Fegelein, an SS officer, executed for some vague issue of dereliction of duty.

Hitler was seeing his world dwindling down to a precious few days to quote Willie Nelson’s song, September. Hitler was losing his mind.

Projection

As a result, Hitler projected his failures on everyone else. He would run around his bunker yelling at his military leaders for their failures and their disobedience. Finally, he uttered, “The war is lost!”

Essentially, Hitler couldn’t trust anyone. They were guilty of “universal treason, corruption, lies and failures.” He couldn’t take being let down. It was too much for him to endure. Therefore, he committed suicide with a cyanide capsule and a bullet to his head on April 30, 1945.

Nevertheless, that was then. What about now? We have an authoritarian president cut from the same psychological cloth of Hitler. Trump doesn’t like anyone who isn’t white. Trump especially dislikes like Muslims, Hispanics, Haitians, Puerto Ricans, etc.

Trump had his own medical authority, Dr. Atlas. He liked Atlas, because he told Trump all about COVID-19. Granted, Atlas’ medical training was neuroradiology, which has absolutely nothing to do with infectious diseases, immunology, pandemics, etc. Additionally, he was an ad hoc Fox News commentator in the White House. Nevertheless, he made so many medical blunders about the coronavirus that he resigned a couple days ago.

Trump has even played doctor himself. He suggested using hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 cure-all. He took it for a couple weeks or so. Trump also suggested to his task coronavirus force that they might consider using some type of disinfectant. “I see disinfectant, where it knocks [coronavirus] out in a minute—one minute—and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that.”

When Trump is not coming with cures for COVID-19, he flies into rage with those who he sees as being disobedient to him. He either fires them or calls them names.

Trump is reluctant to say, “I lost the election.” Instead, he is at war with those who fraudulently caused him to lose the election. Nevertheless, he is outraged by those who claim that the election was the cleanest election that anyone can remember. However, it is all fake news according to Trump. He disses his opponent in the election along with the Republican and Democratic poll workers.

It is only a matter of time before the moving vans will be in front of the White House loading up all of Trump’s stuff. As he sits behind his desk in the Oval Office during his waning days, he will soon parrot Hitler’s comment, “The war is lost!”

Trump sees his world dwindling down to a precious few days. He might even be singing along with Willie Nelson as they sing, September.

September Song

Oh, it's a long, long while
From May to December
But the days grow short,
When you reach September.
When the autumn weather
Turn leaves to flame
One hasn't got time
For the waiting game.

Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few . . .
September, November . . .
And these few precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.

Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few . . .
September, November . . .
And these few precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.

You might wonder who Donald the Dumb thinks about when he hears these lyrics,

Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few . . .
September, November . . .
And these few precious days
I'll spend with you.

The answer: Himself. As my grandmother said, “I love me, I think am grand, when I go to heaven, I’ll hold my hand.”
