Trump is Correct...Partially
He Just Missed Who the Enemy Was

I have written many articles about Donald the Dumb. And we are facing an existential crisis. I can grasp that one person can demonstrate various psych disorders. Dr. John Gartner is a psychotherapist and has taught at Johns Hopkins University Medical School for three decades. He contributed to The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump. Gartner evaluated the mental state of our last two presidents.

I want to get all my cards on the table. I’ll turn 82 on January 20, 2025. That will be when Kamala Harris is sworn in as our next president. I can readily misplace things around the house, which troubles me. I also sometimes forget to get things while shopping. So, when a Gartner evaluated Biden and Trump, I read his insights carefully. He said, “Biden’s brain is aging.” I know that my brain is also aging. As for the Donald, “Trump’s brain is dementing.” He differentiates between those two presidents.

I consider myself mentally and physically in far better shape than most men my age. I do thirty minutes on an elliptical trainer and a hundred crunches daily. As Robert Frost wrote, "The woods are lovely dark and deep but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.” I don’t forget to keep my promises to my family.

I’d bet any amount of money I could physically and mentally beat the Donald. I retired from teaching just over a year ago and miss teaching. I admire Biden and his guts in deciding not to run again.

However, when I think about Donald the Dumb, I think about the adage, “...and a sickness too took root.” I thought that one-liner was from Macbeth or maybe from another play by Shakespeare. So, to be accurate, I Googled it. It wasn’t from Macbeth nor from anything Shakespeare wrote. Even more fascinating is that I invented that saying.

This brings me to Trump, “...and a sickness too took root.” Trump is sick, and the sickness is spreading in Trump and his MAGA minions. Listen to our macho man diagnose the enemy within.

“I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within. We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they’re the big — and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen.”

Trump is partially correct about “the enemy from within.” He is the enemy. He is so sick that he doesn’t grasp that he is projecting. He sees within his mindset that all is not well in himself. To deal with that discomfort, he protects his feelings on what he calls the enemy.

Harris went to Fox News for an interview. The interviewer denies that Trump talked about “the enemy from within.” Trump projects, and then his followers repeat that lie.
