The Bobby Paradox
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” is an old saying in America that was written by Ralph Waldo Emerson nearly two centuries ago. Emerson’s adage is generally true. The good apples fall from the good apple trees and conversely. This is an excellent example of a bad apple tree creating another bad apple tree.
Fred Trump, Donald Trump’s father, was a bad apple tree. In the mid-50s, President Eisenhower called Fred Trump out for profiteering from federal contracts related to construction. In the 60s, another investigation into profiteering occurred by New York State regarding low-income housing. Toward the end of the 60s, the Donald linked up with his father.
The Donald continued growing his apple tree. Federal civil rights charges were filed against him for housing discrimination in the early 70s. In the mid-70s, Trump was forced to improve the Trump’s Norfolk Tower complex due to problems with water heaters, air conditioning, and rodents.
The Donald’s litany of legal issues continued for several decades, but his tour de force occurred during his presidency. If Trump’s legal problems prior to being elected weren’t bad enough, he was impeached twice while in office. The Donald was indicted twice in federal cases, one regarding classified documents and the other about election interference. Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies in New York State charges. Then, there was the Fulton County investigation, ad infinitum.
That is the backstory. Bobby Kennedy has been my most important mentor since the late 60s. I have an entire section of my website dedicated to him. Bobby was exceptional in his all-too-brief life. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, had created and nurtured his bad apple tree. While he wasn’t nearly as despicable as Fred Trump, very few saw much value in his apple tree. However, this is interesting. Joseph Kennedy’s bad apple tree didn’t create bad apple trees for his offspring...especially Bobby. His children were all good apple trees. Nonetheless, Bobby’s tree created what I call the Bobby Paradox.
I have read and listened to many of Bobby’s articles and speeches. For decades, my signature to my emails includes his paraphrasing of George Bernard Shaw’s words. This is Bobby’s version. “Some men see things as they are and say, why; I dream things that never were and say, why not.” I have followed Bobby’s mindset since my college days.
I have followed many mentors during my journey down the yellow brick road of life. Nevertheless, he alone is at the pinnacle to whom I look for guidance. One would think that his namesake would have created a similar tree. This photo shows the Bobby Paradox. Bobby created a good apple tree, and his son created a now-so-good apple tree.
Where does one start with junior? RFK Jr. introduced America to the concept of a leaky brain, his leaky brain. It is caused due to the Wi-Fi. A year ago, he asserted that chemicals in drinking water caused transgender children. That same year, RFK Jr. wrote to a friend about how he barbecued a dog for dinner. RFK Jr. was also into dead a whale, emu, and bear. RFK Jr. is also a vaccine denier and ties COVID-19 to antisemitism. He also claims that the vaccines for hepatitis B cause more problems than they cure.
My mentor’s son isn’t even close to his father regarding thinking, ethics, care, and concern for the world in which we live. RFK Jr. acts and behaves like another bad apple tree.
This video is of RFK Jr. backing the Donald.
