At one level, I agree with Napoleon Bonaparte’s assertion, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” The Republicans are the fools on Capitol Hill and have been so for quite some time. They have kowtowed to Donald the Dumb. I mentioned Andrew Clyde cowering as he and others tried to barricade a door to keep the mob from killing Members of Congress

Andrew Clyde, Macho Man, is trying to save his skin.

However, he apparently forgot that he might have been killed. What he remembers about January 6 wasn’t anything related to an insurrection. “You know, if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from January 6, you’d actually think it was a normal tourist visit.” 

Clyde, along with most Republicans in the House, follows their wannabe leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy. This is where it gets ridiculous. On the floor of the House of Representatives, McCarthy stated on January 13, “The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters…He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump.”

Now, McCarthy is singing another tune. He visited Trump to kiss his ring on January 28, 2021. Okay, kissing his ring is a politically correct way of saying what he kissed. Essentially, McCarthy sold his soul to the devil.

That rendezvous between two dubious political leaders was three weeks after Trump’s attempted coup d'état. Four months after the failed stop the steal, things are changing in America, but McCarthy is not aware of it. Nonetheless, Trump is fully aware of the changes in his fortune looming on the horizon.

There is a laundry list of inquiries related to Trump and his businesses. New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. have linked their departments in their investigations of Trump. They are assisting each other in material related to both criminal and civil cases. Their probes include covers hush money, over and under evaluations of assets, IRS tax filings from 2011-2019, Russian meddling, two defamation cases due to two females who accused Trump of sexual assault or rape, inheritance issues, impeding the Mueller investigation of Trump, etc.

The above cases are tied to New York. There are two investigations taking place in Georgia. The Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is looking into Trump’s call to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger about finding some votes so that Trump could carry Georgia. The probes involve possible solicitation of election fraud, threats to officeholders, and racketeering. Apparently, Raffensperger is looking into this issue also.

Karl Racine, the D.C. Attorney General, is investigating Trump’s involvement on January 6 as it relates to blocking the electoral certification of Biden as president. The Department of Justice is looking into the same issue.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, filed a suit accusing Trump of conspiring to intimidate and block Congress’s certification of the 2020 election.

Finally, Rudy Giuliani and Allen Weisselberg might flip on Trump, like Michael Cohen did. Both of them are possibly facing taking a bullet for Trump or testifying for the government. Does anybody want to bet that they won’t flip?

If that isn’t enough, two large legal firms representing Trump before January 6 have withdrawn as his lawyers due to the insurrection. The sun is setting on Donald the Dumb and McCarthy. Trump sees the writing on the wall, but McCarthy seems unaware that he is backing someone who might be doing time.
