The Tale of a Washington Shaker and Mover
If you are looking for a truly professional scam artist, contact Peter Navarro. Navarro could be in the act of robbing a bank, and he would tell the arresting officers that he was just there to deposit some money for retirement. He has the innate ability to lie better than his mentor, Trump, who is a convicted felon.
I’ve watched him being interviewed by various newscasters. Ari Melber interviewed Navarro about the Green Bay Sweep on 1/4/22. (Watch 1:46-4:15)
However, I watched Rachel Maddow on MSNBC several days ago talking about Navarro and Ron Vara. Navarro’s book Death of China included an important person in Washington. Ron Vara was a significant person and was mentioned in other Navarro books. I had never heard of Ron Vara, but he was a Washington shaker and mover. So, I sat back to get the scoop on this person with credentials. A moment later, Maddow said that Ron Vara never existed. What?
Maddow had my attention now on steroids. Navarro created a character and wrote about this fairytale character in his Death of China. Maddow discovered that Trump had asked Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, to find someone who could be Trump’s economics advisor during his first term. Kushner was very thorough in his research. And where was the place that Kushner did his due diligence?
Amazon. Yep. Kushner went to Amazon. Now, I buy a great deal of things on Amazon. They range from dried mango strips to shoes, appliances, clothing, Himalayan salt lamps, evil eyes, and techy things. I have no issue with Amazon; I use them all the time. However, they don’t sell economic advisors on their site. However, they sell books, one of which was Death of China.
Navarro created Ron Vara ex nihilo. However, the story gets even more fascinating when Maddow explains how Navarro created the imaginary person named Ron Vara. It is an anagram of Navarro. He was so blatantly dishonest that he thought he was exceptionally brilliant, and his character was a play on his own name.
This month, the stock market started at 42,500 and fell to 37,500. Between Navarro and Trump, they were able to start a tariff war in the entire world. So far this year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has lost 9.9%, the S&P 500 has lost 14%, and the Nasdaq Composite has lost 19% since the start of the year. Those dishonest men, Trump and Navarro, are responsible for the mayhem in America and throughout the world.
As I was proofing this essay, CNBC posted Trump’s reversal of his tariff wars for a 90-day pause. Well, what he did was to pause the reciprocal tariffs. His inane tariff wars caused havoc in America and the world. Once Trump woke up and paused again. Don’t waste your time listening to Donal the Dumb; look at the charts on the screen as they respond to his most recent delay in the INTRA DAY change. (Watch 3:00-54)
So, Trump caved in due to the mess he created and will pause the reciprocal tariffs for 90 days. Does he think the Dow will return to the high of 44,561.11 two months ago?
Trump hasn’t learned anything, but I have. Beyond the nonsense of Navarro and Trump, I learned that Maddow addresses the genesis of the problem related to Ron Vara. I have some other questions about our country that relate to sexism, racism, and xenophobia. And guess who will receive my litany of issues?
