Life Will Improve
If You Use More than One Silo

We are getting our news from various silos. They are our sources of information and understanding of the news.

Information silos

Information silos

Therein lies one of our problems. If you get your data from the silo on the right, you will have a different information basis than those that use the one on the left or the other five silos. My suggestion is to crosscheck your silo data with other silos. For example, use Stephen Colbert as an additional silo.

Vance said that Trump saved Obamacare. Really? This is where using more than one silo for your information provides more accurate news and knowledge.

This is another example of Vance's brilliance. He stated that Trump’s coup attempt turned into a virtuous moment for Trump.

My initial response to Vance was that he was full of BS. It was another absurd litany of comments like Trump makes all the time. Trump and Vance see reality differently than other sentient humans. I wonder whether either of them watched Forrest Gump. Forrest said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

At one level or in one silo, Forrest Gump is about someone who goes through his life saying and doing stupid things. The character has a limited IQ and winds up in the strangest situations during his life. Forrest’s mother rents their home to Elvis Presley, who sang and played his guitar while Forrest danced to the music.

And the list goes on. Forrest takes a school bus to his school and falls in love with Jenny. Despite physical and mental issues, he reaches out to others to assist them. Jenny and Forrest are close friends. Each of them reaches out to the other. And they are supportive and protective of each other. For example, Forrest learns how to run with Jenny's help.

Forrest’s running ability earned him a scholarship to attend the University of Alabama. While there, he watches George Wallace attempt to block several black students from attending the university. One of the students drops her notebook, which Forrest rushes to retrieve and returns it to her.

Forrest winds up in Vietnam, and he saves several other fellow soldiers who were wounded during a battle. Forrest does this throughout the movie. If viewers see Forrest as a mentally deficient person, they miss the message cloaked in a metaphor. The message isn’t about a slow learner. Vance, Trump, and many Americans missed the message. The storyline in Forrest Gump is about a caring person who reaches out to help others. That mindset isn’t one of Trump or Vance’s strong suits or those of their followers.

If you want a brief overview of Forrest Gump, watch this video. You will see life from another silo. Additionally, Forrest is an excellent mentor on the journey down your yellow brick road of life.
