Roar Like a Lion
In my previous essay, I confessed that I lacked sharing the mindsets of Gen X and Z and had a problem understanding their vocabulary and slogans. It is a task to keep up with Kamala Harris and some of her even younger followers, like Ti Ti, my granddaughter. It is a tad bit humiliating. I found this video on CNN discussing Gen Z, memes, and social media connections. If you are over 50, trust me, watch this video segment.
Therefore, I am fully aware of the benefits of my angst, as my generation has often stated: no pain, no gain. I began my journey to fully understand my missing intellectual data by looking again at Michelle’s Facebook post.
Then I clicked on the Shop now link, which brought me to hundreds of shirts, hats, and posters. It is a clothing version of Amazon. Again, I never even knew it was out there. I was fascinated by all the T-shirts dealing with women’s issues. It wasn’t long before I found this T-shirt.
So, what was so intriguing about this statement on a T-shirt? I got the message. That wasn’t the eureka moment for me. I have written countless articles about how inane it is that men tell women about their reproductive rights. There are members of the Supreme Court, like Thomas, who make millions from gifts given to them by the fat cats, who see nothing wrong with sexism.
Thomas wants the court to deal with birth control. In other cases like Griswold v. Connecticut, Lawrence v. Texas, and Obergefell v. Hodges, Thomas wants the courts to rethink their decisions. Interestingly, Thomas never mentioned the Loving v. Virginia decision in 1967. I wonder why he doesn’t wish to revisit that decision two decades prior to this photo.
It rattles me that men tell women how to address their reproductive issues. Issues like abortion are determined by the persons who get women pregnant in the first place. Sexism and racism are essentially identical. Birth determines one\'s freedoms or bondage. Being born as a white male entitles you to control non-whites and/or women. While that is blatantly clear to me, it is not to many of the MAGA minions.
However, this is another example of what is especially true for Gen X and Z mindsets. The synopsis of my above paragraph is accurate, but my comment, along with other sentient individuals, lacks newness and pizzazz.
The author of Fallopians 19:73 addresses sexism with humor, like quoting some biblical scripture. It gets away with using the f-word because it sounds like something written in the King James Bible.
In my attempt to get with the younger Gen groups, I am trying out some of my sayings for T-shirts for women. Here are some of my one-liners.
- Keepth it in your knickers...remember, I’m a sexy surgeon. II Castration 13:43
- If you get me pregnant, the penalty for you is jail. Slammer 2:14
- I don’t tell you how to run your life; get out of mine. I Marathon 26:2
I mentioned a segment of a CNN video at the beginning of this article: this is the complete video.
