The Remake of Forrest Gump
A month from now, it will be all over. I will have responded to Moh Moh’s, my daughter in Myanmar, email. Eight years ago, on election night, she wanted to know what was happening in America. Trump lost the popular vote but won in the Electoral College. I couldn’t explain to her how Donald the Dumb had won.
However, this election night will be different. Trump won’t be elected again. Now, there are many rational Americans who are worried. One that I respect a great deal is Robert Reich, who served in various administrations dating back to Ford, Carter, Clinton, and Obama. He is a lawyer, writer, and professor. Reich lived his life saying to "fight the bullies, to protect the powerless, to make sure that the people without a voice have a voice." His life was spent by He is worried. Ko Ko, my son in Myanmar, sent me a WhatsApp with a quote from Reich.
How can Trump—the sleaziest person ever to run for president, who has already been convicted on 34 felony charges and impeached twice, whose failures of character and leadership were experienced directly by the American public during his four years at the helm—be running neck-and-neck with a young, talented, intelligent person with a commendable record of public service?
I hope that Reich was venting. There are loads of Republicans who have worked in the federal government who aren’t voting for Trump this time. Here are some of the thinking Republicans.

In light of all the problems that Trump is experiencing, Hollywood remade the classic film, Forrest Gump. Who would have thought that, three decades ago, Hollywood would create a new version of the film?
