On January 6th, I woke up, fed Ginger, and we circumnavigated the lake on which we live. When we returned home, I took a shower and went to my study. I pulled up the Georgia Senatorial run-off results on my computer. At the time, 98% of the ballots were counted, and both Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff were ahead of their incumbent Republican opponents. Warnock was predicted to win and Ossoff, at that time, was ahead by 11,000 votes. However, the latest totals are nearly 50,000 more than his opponent. Most of those votes came from the Atlanta area. Happy days are here again.

Okay, Trump claims it was another rigged election. Trump’s definition of a rigged election is an election that he didn’t win.

I went back to writing and occasionally would check on Ossoff’s lead. Then around noon, I returned to the TV and watched the joint session of Congress to see what nonsense Pence would do. Then it happened. The Proud Boys, Trump supporters, white supremacists, and various fringe groups stormed the Capital. I sat there watching in disbelief. I couldn’t grasp how Trump’s mob had gotten into the Capital. Even more unbelievable was that I couldn’t see very many police other than a few at some barricades and a couple on the steps of the Capital.

Everyone knew about the rally for weeks. At the rally, our Loser-in-Chief gave the crowd marching orders.

“…we are going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue….”

Well, Trump’s supporters did march down Pennsylvania Avenue, but Trump went back to the White House and watched his coup d'état attempt on TV. Yo, Donald, you lost again. Your life has been spent losing. Even your lap dog, Pence, grasped the obvious…even though you threatened him.

Pence announced the vote of the Electoral College at 3:41am on January 7th. Twelve hours before Pence made that announcement, a rioter sat where Pence gave the election results.

Earlier the morning of January 6th, I wrote to Moh Moh regarding an essay about Ti Ti on which I was working. I then added this short paragraph to my email. “As for America, much of the world thinks that America has become a banana republic. That term means a dumb country run by dumb people. In two weeks, there will be a change.”

Little did I realize that comment was a harbinger of things to come…shortly. All afternoon, chaos reigned at the Capital. Finally, order was restored, and our Loser-in-Chief’s coup d'état was squashed.

A takeaway from January 6th is that we need to learn not to kowtow to people like Trump. For over four years, nearly every Republican has bowed to Donald the Dumb. If you didn’t prostrate yourself before him, you were fired. In the next few months, those leaders in the Republican party will begin to diss Trump. Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and the list goes on and on. Some of these leaders are still lapdogs of Trump, but others are saying that they now see the light regarding Trump. That is bs. They say it before he was elected four years ago, but they were cowards. Shakespeare wrote of another autocrat,

That is why many people in the world view America as a banana republic…with dumb leaders. Under Trump, we have nearly 375,000 deaths and 22,000,000 confirmed classes of COVID-19. The economy is in shambles. Trump started this insurrection, but he is running around the White House not understanding why his coup d'état didn’t work. Trump never addressed cyber security and the Russian hacking into our government. He did nothing to assist Ukraine. The Trump administration can’t even find hundreds of children separated from their parents who were asylum seekers. Global warming is a hoax. Our racist president sees good in white supremacists.

On January 20th, we will begin to repair what DDFP (Donald, the Despicable Fake President) did to America. DDFP will be remembered as the greatest presidential loser.
