Day 3 — Exploring Chiang Rai’s Wonders

Our third day in Chiang Rai was an adventure filled with culture, beauty, and a touch of whimsy. We started with the famous White Temple or Wat Rong Khun. The place looked like a fairytale come to life, shimmering in pristine white with intricate carvings that felt like they belonged to another realm. While we were walking around, we found a bunch of tiny, playful rabbits hopping about, adding even more charm to the magical atmosphere. The artistry and architecture of the temple were breathtaking, with every detail telling a story or holding some deeper meaning. I found myself just standing there, in awe of how much effort must have gone into creating something so magnificent.

Next, we made our way to the equally stunning Blue Temple. The deep blues and golds of the temple made it feel serene yet regal. While there, I took a moment to light a candle, make a wish, and let it float away with the gentle water flow, carrying my hopes along with it. It was such a peaceful and reflective moment. Nearby, we spotted an orange cat snoozing on the candle shelf as if it had found its personal sanctuary—completely unbothered by the bustling visitors. Of course, my curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn’t resist checking my fortune from one of the temple’s luck readings. My boyfriend caught the perfect candid moment of me squinting and trying to decipher the words.

On the drive back, we stopped by a lovely café tucked away in a beautifully landscaped garden with a man-made waterfall. The place was like a mini paradise, perfect for relaxing. I ordered a cup of coffee, and as we sat there soaking in the view, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the day we were having.

Our last stop was a spontaneous visit to a sheep farm, and it turned out to be the highlight of the day. We just barely made it before closing time, but it was worth the rush. The fresh air, rolling green fields, and adorable sheep instantly put us in a good mood. We had the best time feeding and petting the sheep, and the sheepdogs stole the show with their playful antics. It was such a peaceful and refreshing way to end the trip, surrounded by nature and laughter.
