Next Batter
The World Series begins this Friday, October 27th. Some Americans will be glued to their wide-screen TVs, arguing with family members about who will win the best of seven series. Over six decades ago, no one in my family or any family in Pittsburgh debated who would win the World Series on October 13, 1960. The Pirates were playing against the Yankees, and it was the bottom of the ninth with the score tied. Bill Mazeroski was up at bat.
However, the Republican Party is playing their baseball games way out in right field. This is a picture of Rep. McCarthy going up to bat fifteen times before Matt Gaetz and the eight MAGA group allowed him to play for a while. Then they called him out.
The next one that came to the plate was Rep. Scalise. However, Scalise wasn’t even playing in the big leagues and admitted, “I just shared with my colleagues that I’m withdrawing my name as candidate for the speaker designee.”
The next batter was Rep. Jim Jordan, who went down swinging even though Donald the Dumb backed him. Jordan backed Trump. They have a quid pro quo arrangement.
Now, the Republicans are changing the rules a bit. There are now nine at-bat at the same time.
Now, before these guys start swinging at balls thrown by the pitcher, they are swinging at each other. Aside from the fact that only Emmer and Scott voted to certify the vote for Biden in the wake of January 6th, what else stands out to you? All of them are males. Therefore, if you wish to bet on the game the Republicans are playing, I’d hedge your bets.
The group of nine will wax and wane before another candidate, Rep. Darth Vader, comes to the plate and strikes out.
Now, Rep. Vader decided to pitch rather than strike out again.
Vader wasn’t any good at either endeavor, along with the rest of the House Republicans.
